Lap Top Stolen from Desk Top
05:00 p.m., 8500 block of National Blvd., Grand Theft.
A woman left work for the day and placed a $3,000 lap top computer on the desk of the companys attorney. When the woman returned the next day at 7:00 a.m., the computer was missing.
Tuesday, June 13
Another Toyota Camry Stolen
06:45 p.m., 10800 block of Jefferson Blvd., Auto Theft.
Police were in the process of recovering one stolen car when a L.A. woman approached them and told them that her car had been stolen. A store security guard told police that a 12 year boy had entered the store and told security that he had witnessed the theft. He told security that he was sitting in his parents car when he saw a man breaking into the 1991 Toyota Camry parked directly next to his parents car.
Wednesday, June 14
Nailed for Mail and Bank Fraud
02:20 a.m., Tellefson Park, Felony Postal Warrant.
Police arrested a 26 year old resident of Huron Ave. for possession of stolen U.S. mail and bank fraud. The unemployed man had $750 in cash on him at the time of his arrest. The warrant did not allow the man to get out of jail on bail.
Man Attempts to Catch a Thief
06:30 p.m., 4400 block of Jasmine Ave., Assault With A Deadly Weapon.
A 82 year old woman arrived at her home, unlocked the front door, and inadvertently left the keys to her car in the front door lock. The womans 28 year old male caregiver later exited the house to leave for the day and saw a man driving the womans car away. He yelled at the suspect to stop. The suspect stopped the car, got out, and ran southbound on Jasmine. The caregiver gave chase and pushed the suspect to the ground. The suspect turned and cut the victims shirt with a knife. The suspect then fled south toward the creek.

Electronics and Tennis Shoes Stolen
06:40 p.m., 6100 block of Canterbury Dr., Burglar: Forcible Entry
A 31 year old man returned home from work and discovered that his front door had been kicked in. The inside was ransacked. Items taken included a TV, VCR, home stereo, speakers and two pair of tennis shoes. Total value of the items were valued at $970.
Cash Count Came Up Short
11:00 p.m., 5300 block of Sepulveda Blvd., Grand Theft.
A 40 year old Night Shift Manager of a restaurant completed the daily cash reconciliation for her shift and discovered the cash was short $496.19. The manager waited until the next day to file a report because the General Manager wanted to check with the other managers and cashiers to see if anyone "went to the bank to make change".

Here, Its for You
07:15 p.m., Sepulveda Blvd. & Marina Frwy onramp, Armed Robbery.
A man was walking northbound on Sepulveda while talking on a cell phone. As he walked a suspect approached and said, "give me the cell phone". The victim refused to give the suspect the phone. The suspect then pulled out a switchblade knife and repeated his demand. Fearing for his life the victim gave the man his phone. The suspect then escaped on foot southbound on Sepulveda.
Saturday, June 17
Stupid Crook of the Week Award
01:15 p.m., 6000 block of Sepulveda Blvd. Parolee Arrest.
A loss prevention officer watched on a store video surveillance camera as a 42 year old man stuffed three ties into a black duffle bag. When loss prevention tried to stop the suspect, he ran back into the store where he was detained and handcuffed. The three ties valued at $361.42 were found in the suspects bag. Also found in the bag was 3/4 grams of marijuana. The suspect only had $1.10 in change at the time of his arrest. It was also discovered that the suspect was on parole for petty theft.
Sunday, June 18
Drive By Shootings
05:10 p.m., Sepulveda Blvd. & Centinela Ave., Assault With Fire Arm
Police responded to reports of a shooting and were unable to find a victim. It was later discovered that a 20 year old man had been driving his Isuzu Trooper southbound on Sepulveda and turned into the left turn lane to turn onto Centinela Ave. While waiting for the light, a dark colored 1990s Chevy Astrovan with three suspects turned northbound onto Sepulveda. The driver of the van fired three times at the victim with a .25 caliber handgun. One bullet went through the car and struck the victim in the shoulder. The victim then drove to his fathers home in the 5600 block of Garth Ave in Ladera Heights. The victim was then treated by county fire paramedics and transported by ambulance to Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood. A drive-by shooting was reported to the L.A.P.D. 15 minutes later in the 12000 block of Braddock which also had involved a dark colored Chevy Astrovan. Police believe that these shootings may possibly be related.
