An Experienced Candidate and a Proven Leader
Albert Vera was born in Naples, Italy in 1934. He became a Culver City resident in 1950 and served in the United States Army from 1958-1960. He opened Sorrento Italian Market in 1962 and married his wife, Ursula, the following year. The Vera's two sons, Ralph and Albert Jr., were educated in Culver City schools.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
- Initiated increase of the Culver City Police Reserves by 25 officers a 100% increase.
- Spearheaded the Fire Reserve Program, Park Patrol and Graffiti Removal Program.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND CREATIVITY
- Raised over $140,000 annually in new revenues without raising taxes one penny.
- Saved thousands of tax dollars by reorganizing the maintenance of city vehicles.
- Saved thousands more in taxpayer dollars by requiring a 2% prompt payment discount of city contracts.
- Organized multi-coalition to investigate feasibility of reducing residential utility costs.
REJUVENATION AND EXPANSION OF CITY FACILITIES
- Obtained federal funds to rebuild the Culver City Municipal Pool.
- Actively pursued and sought funding for the new Senior Citizens Center.
- Strong proponent of building a city golf course.
ATTENTION TO EDUCATION
- Assisted Culver City Unified School District with $750,000 to $1,000,000 annually in cash and city services.
- Supporter of unity program among Culver City schools.
